About Abide Custom Builders

The biggest difference is that PJ, the owner, is on-site every single day personally managing your project. Unlike larger construction companies where you might get handed off to project managers you've never met, at Abide you work directly with the owner from start to finish.

With 24+ years of experience and 125+ satisfied clients, we bring proven expertise combined with genuine personal care. We're not trying to be the biggest builder in Northern Colorado—we focus on doing excellent work for the families who trust us.

Our 40/40/20 Payment Structure

40% Contract Signing Material ordering & project initiation
40% Rough-In Complete Framing, electrical, plumbing roughed in
20% Final Completion Project finished & inspected

This payment structure protects both parties and ensures we stay aligned throughout the project. The final 20% isn't due until you're completely satisfied with our work.

During our initial meeting, we'll discuss your vision, budget, timeline, and answer any questions you have. There's no pressure—just an honest conversation to see if we're a good fit for your project.

As involved as you want to be! Some clients prefer to be hands-on with every decision, while others trust us to handle the details. We adapt to your style.

Regardless of your preference, you'll receive:

Yes! We offer design-build services and can work with you from initial concept through completion. We also partner with trusted architects and designers if your project requires specialized design expertise.

If you already have plans, that's great too—we're happy to work from your existing drawings and specifications.

Changes happen—we understand that. When you walk through your project as it takes shape, you might see opportunities or want adjustments. We handle change orders professionally:

  • Get your approval before proceeding

Custom homes typically take 8-14 months depending on size, complexity, and finish level. We'll provide a detailed timeline during our planning phase based on your specific project.

Most basement finishes take 6-12 weeks depending on scope. A basic finish with bedrooms and a bathroom typically runs 6-8 weeks. More complex projects with home theaters, wet bars, and multiple bathrooms may take 10-12 weeks.

Our schedule varies throughout the year. We intentionally limit the number of projects we take on to ensure PJ can give each one proper attention. Contact us to discuss timing for your project—the sooner we can start planning, the better we can accommodate your preferred timeline.

After The Project

We stand behind our work with a comprehensive warranty:

  • 1-year warranty on workmanship
  • Manufacturer warranties on all materials and systems
  • Structural warranties per Colorado state requirements

More importantly, our relationship doesn't end when the project is complete. If you have an issue, call us—we'll make it right.
